"I heartily recommend T-NET to pastors and leaders who want to get serious about working with Christ to fulfill the Great Commission in their congregations."

Bill Himmel, Senior Pastor, Fellowship Bible Church, Pearland, TX

Tom Latterell, Senior Pastor, Kerkhoven Evangelical Free Church, Kerkhoven, MN

"A number of years ago, during a personal struggle with pastoral expectations, I picked up Bill Hull's book, The Disciplemaking Pastor.  His analogy of the pastor as the player/coach of the church both liberated and energized me.!"

Bruce Eberline, Senior Pastor, South Park Church, Park Ridge, IL

"T-NET has helped us make needed changes that have resulted in growth in numbers and commitment."

Steve Montgomery, Household of Faith, Garland, TX

"I don't know where I would be in ministry if God hadn't given me this opportunity.   I know we wouldn't have been on the way to the quality ministry God is leading us to."

Monte Vigh, Senior Pastor, Merritt Fellowship Baptist Church, Merritt, B.C. Canada

"I have seen more change with unity in the past two years than in the six years preceding."

Kurt Edwards, Senior Pastor, Lake Murry Evangelical Free Church, LaMesa, CA

Dave Blackmore, Pastor, Faith Evangelical Free Church, Round Rock, TX

Church Leaders Assess T-NET's Impact

"This has redefined my own life - being a disciple and being intentional - as well as our church. It has given us arms and legs, vision and a specific strategy to grow and make disciples and be the healthy church Jesus has called us to be. thank you very much.
                                                        Terry ***, Lay Leader

"I've been a Christian leader for over 15 years, and I have never had a time of consistent spiritual growth like I have this past year.  The same is true for  many in  our church that have participated in the discipleship process.
                                           Name Withheld, Lay Leader

We spent a month talking up small groups and encouraging people to sign up to be part of a group.  My goal was to have 60 people involved in small groups who have not been so before.  The Lord has given us over 90!  We have five new small group leaders ready to get started this month. We should be able to accommodate everyone, but it will be a fight.  A good problem to have."
                                                                David *** , Pastor

"T-NET has revolutionized my thinking about ministry.  It has helped me understand and focus on the purpose of the church, to go and make disciples.  Two examples will help illustrate the impact.   In my own family:

  1. My 19-year-old son became a member of our Small Group Leaders Training Class.  As a parent, I had the opportunity to make a personal investment in his growth as a disciple.  As a result of this experience, he has asked to be my apprentice in teaching the welcoming class at our church.  We have grown much closer through this experience as father and son and as brothers in Christ.  Peter has indicated a decision to serve God as a medical missionary.

  2.  In our church: The most dramatic examples are in the testimonies of new people who are coming to know Jesus Christ.  One new comer recently said, I have known who Jesus was all my life.  But, I never knew I could have a personal relationship with Him until I came here.  Now, that is what I want more than anything in this world."
                                                        Charles ***, Pastor

"We have experienced a complete change in structure and spiritual direction in the last 3 years.  This includes everything including the building of a new church building.  The results of all of this have been a completely new spirit of the members.  We are truly becoming a disciple making church."
                                                                John ***, Lay Leader

"Change is hard, but when God's blessings burst forth it is hard if not impossible to contain. … We learned that we needed to refocus!  Refocus!  Refocus! … What a dramatic difference in our physical church use -- Alleluia! … My apprentice who was a nice guy 2-1/2 years ago, starts seminary this week.  Amen!"
                                                                Harry ***, Lay Leader

"Each training session helped me refocus and learn new possibilities in our church. We have begun a long process of training and mentoring lay leaders.  This is not a 3-year fix-it program, but the beginning of a process for learning to be effective in disciple making.  In being trained, we grew in our faith which enabled us to be excited about spiritual growth/discipleship."
                                                                     Howard ***, Pastor

"My own life has been impacted greatly by T-NET.  Learning discipleship and disciple making principles has been extremely helpful.  More than this, I have been convinced of my own need to be in a group for support, encouragement, and the intentional pursuit of holiness."
                                                                  Merrit ***, Lay Leader

"T-NET has had an impact on my life.  I've had the opportunity to learn about discipleship and the disciple making process.  I have a renewed focus and understanding of the true purpose and mission of the church. I've been able to look back on my experience and definitely see that I have grown in the Lord."

Dan ***, Lay Leader

"Church-wide, the training  process has encouraged us to re-think our church purpose, refine it and keep it in the forefront of all we do.  Personally,  T-NET has helped me keep focus on what I am to be about as a pastor, i.e. equipping saints for the work of the ministry.  It has given me clear direction and steps to take."
                                                                            Bill ***, Pastor

"As a small group leader, I learned to increase our original (pre T-NET) group's focus on evangelism first and on discipleship.  I am currently teaching SS with a member of our newly focused small group who came to personal faith in Christ through the study in our group sessions.  I praise God that no one is ever too old or experienced to receive a fresh, inspired view of our life in Christ and to grow with Him."
                                                                    Mary ***, Lay Leader

"The three year process has provided the accountability needed to move our church forward in restructuring and evaluating where we are and where we want to go to become more of a disciple making church. The leadership training has enabled a number of our members to step out in confidence into small group leadership roles. Small group training has strengthened the commitment of members to be more involved in ministry and servanthood."
Rev. Charlie Hill, Min. of Education, Falmouth Baptist Church

"I have appreciated the training regarding the ABF model for groups.  It has allowed me personally (and my church) to look at the rigid structures - historically - in our denomination regarding Sunday School.  We can use a model better adapted to today and be more centered on personal/fellowship needs while continuing to concentrate on reaching people.

It has been exciting to implement a plan to assist believers through a process of discipleship that has greatly enhanced spiritual growth and deepened the relationships among our members using various small groups.

It has forced us to look at the structures that are and are not beneficial to us at the point of concentrating on Jesus' mandate to disciple believers."
Rev. Burdette Robinson,  Minister of Education,
                             Culpeper Baptist Church, Culpeper, VA

"This process has identified the major things to be dealt with to effect systemic change and improvement for our church in the disciple-making process.  As pastor, I now have in place and functioning the means for helping a Christian mature.  We now know the function of open and closed groups.  Our worship is more "accessible" for outsiders.  We know what must be done with our infrastructure.  Our definition of a disciple and philosophy of ministry clarify for us what and how we do our work."
Dr. Ted W. Fuson,  Senior Pastor, Culpeper Baptist Church

Other Exit Interviews

"T-NET has brought us back to the reason we exist -- to make and grow disciples.  It has been helpful to realize that all we do comes under the umbrella of "making disciples".  Our philosophy of ministry has freed us to focus on this priority of disciple making.

Educationally speaking, T-NET has guided our church to get clear about why we do what we do.  The development of goals we have set for all age-group ministries keeps us focused on the transformation process.

The church has started many small groups, and the church has stated that we will primarily grow disciples through small groups.  These small groups have had significant impact on the facilitators and participants.

We anticipate that the ABF's we have formed will significantly impact how we do adult Bible study.

The T-NET process is very good.  We are involved for the long haul!"

Terry Maples, Minister of Education, Huguenot Road Baptist Church

"T-NET has been catalytic for Hilton Baptist Church is providing a disciple making springboard that will catapult this church into the new millennium.  The process has been gradual and sensitive to the resistance to change that is natural in an older middle-size church like Hilton.  We have remained a united congregation.  Yet, now there are many new faces and many formerly "stuck" Christians who are finding real joy in their growth and ministry.  This church has a future.  Of course, the ultimate grace-giver of futures is our Lord.  T-NET has been His instrument."
Jay Lawson, Pastor,  Hilton Baptist Church

"A three year experience that started with a three-day conference.  The new ideas that have opened doors for new avenues of reaching people for Christ.  T-NET has helped my church to focus on the need to look at the focus of the church ministry.  We discovered we are doing many things, but did not have a true focus on disciple making.  We are not there yet, but many in our church are looking to way s of making disciples.  Many have recognized the need to train ourselves as well as reach new people for Christ and give them quality training to become a disciple."
                                              Lay Leader, Hilton Baptist Church
